Simple thoughts

Does the past define who you are now?

Standard

The past can’t define who you are today because what is past no longer exists. The actions of the past become part of the overall experience of a person’s life. Whether those experience are positive or negative are not right or wrong but lessons to be learned from. Some lessons are painful some are happy some are neutral.

At any time we can choose your own path. At any time you can see an action as one that will bring a positive result or a negative one. All it takes is a little detachment about making different decisions in the future.

Don’t buy into past beliefs that because you made a poor decision in the past you can’t make different decisions in the future. That’s the beauty and benefit of free will. You always have a choice. Just step back a moment and see what is going on, then decide.

Don’t pick on, berate put down or scare yourself with your thoughts.

Be kind and gentle to yourself. you are special and wonderful,

So believe it and act on it.

Two Things To Remember

Standard

There are two things to remember.

If it makes you happy, do it.
If it doesn’t then don’t.

Short Story Saturday #1 The Future

Standard

I am starting a series of very short stories with a positive theme. Please enjoy and your comments are always welcome.

Once upon a time, just a week ago I found a winding road. Since I have nothing else to do I walked on it. The beginning of the path was easy; there were no bushes or rocks to trip on, just smooth dirt. Confident I could continue unencumbered I trekked on.

As I walked the light became a little less so I had to adjust my eyes to the the light. I tripped on an upturned tree root and fell on my knees. Ouch that really hurt. I got up and brushed myself off. I wasn’t bleeding anywhere so I continued. The trees became thick with only trickles of light. I hobbled carefully on the road that was becoming increasingly unpredictable. Boulders, vines, downed trees and unrecognizable sounds were invoking fear and uncertainty in me. Why did I walk down this path in the first place? I can’t turn back because the way is no longer clear. I must go forward.

It occurred to me this is the road to my future. Each obstacle is just a teacher on this path. I must learn to be unattached to the outcome of each obstacle.

Lightened from the burden of fear I walked on and went over, under, around or through each obstacle laid in front of me. It didn’t take long to find the end of the winding road.

There is was, exactly what I was looking for, my future in my own way.

Thoughful Thursdays #35 Criticism

Standard

Never criticize yourself for anything.

These wise words are from the book “You can heal your life” by Louise Hay. As I have mentioned before I’ve read the book a number of times. I started doing affirmations for about thirty days as suggested in the book and I feel much different since I started. I feel more confident and much clearer on my goals. That’s something I have always struggled with because I listened to my inner critic all the time.

Affirmations change what your subconscious hears and acts on.

Try them and silence that bad inner critic that makes so much trouble.

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy.

Affirmations # 25 Resistance

Standard

I am willing to release all resistance.
I am willing to let go. I release. I let go. I release all tension. I release all fear. I release all anger, I release all guilt. I release all sadness, I let go of all old limitations. I let go, I am at peace.

Louise Hay

Resistance is your invisible foe. You will recognize it as your inner critic. Don’t listen to it. Write these affirmations 10 times each say them many times during the day especially in the morning and bedtime. Don’t forget to say them in a mirror.

Affirmations # 24 Wellbeing

Love revisited.

Standard

Love is not painful. If you are in a relationship and it hurts, get out of it now. The pain only gets worse.

Love is give and take and pleasure and trusting. If you don’t have at least a friendship, leave now.

Don’t waste time in a relationship that is unproductive and holds you back. Drop the drama.

Get back to true love of yourself or you will be useless in a new relationship.
