Kite Flying

Standard

                    Kite Flying

Years ago, on our frequent visits to the beach we would fly kites. This was long before kite flying was banned by the parks department as hazardous.

One time I had a red kite with a long yellow tail. It wasn’t very big maybe about two feet by two feet. Anything bigger would be too much to carry along with our beach gear.

It was windy. So windy that it was hard to launch and hold on to the thin rope of my kite. With the sun blaring on my back and the wind slapping me in the face and my kite zipping and zagging I fell over a seashell. Ouch. I let go of my kite rope and felt the pain in my knee.

I watched my poor kite being taken out to sea blowing heartily along.

I was sad and imagined that sea creatures would lug it back to me. No such luck. The kite sank and was never seen again.

There was nothing I could do but to save my pennies and buy a new kite at the Woolworths.

I lay on the blue blanket under the violet umbrella and took a nap. I felt better when I woke up, dipped my toes in the wavy ocean and enjoyed the rest of the day.

I will have a new kite next time we come here and start all over again.

Searching for our DNA

Standard

There is something in our DNA that has us gravitate toward certain people.

It goes something like this:

orange me, red me

talk to me, bleed me,

the blood in my veins flows into yours

like a river,

with no pain,

dancing lovely down stream.

samba with me, be with me,

we are healed already

in our DNA.

we belong to each other

without possession.

melt with me, work with me,

take me to other realms

outside of normal

there is no normal

ground me, electrify me

stay with me

connect with me,

hear me, see me,

begin with me, end as us

always.

Connections between people happen on many levels. Some levels are obvious some are hidden. If you can just stay aware and awake long enough. You will find the reason. And grow from there.

Happy Searching.

Thoughtful Thursdays #12

cI love the Fall. The air changes and the days are shorter. It’s cooler with a sprinkling of fading summer. The leaves are changing. This beautiful weather temporarily makes me forget the bills, the job, the lack of sleep and the running around.

It’s those small moments of being in nature that breaks up the whirling of my mind on secondary nonsense and is a reminder that feeling grounded and at peace are most important.

March on Fall. Colder and colder. Red, green, gold leaves falling and swirling in the wind bringing us closer to winter. Warm jackets, hot chocolate and soup. Crafting indoor happiness and wearing hats almost stolen by the wind. Soon to be barren trees and preparing for Christmas.

Remember the Fall as comfortable and lovely and arrives only once a year.
Absorb Fall and it will change you. Love the Fall and it will love you back.

Bye Bye I’m going back outside.
