Thoughful thursdays #84 – Trust

Standard

What is trust?

It is the belief in the reliability and strength of someone or something. Honesty, dependability, assurance.

In a scale of 1 to 10 who or what do you believe to be reliable and strong.

I had a medical procedure done this week and I was terrified because here I was among a bunch of strangers who were going to knock me out and poke and probe my unconcious body.

I don’t trust anyone that much. I voiced my concerns and these wonderful professionals proved their reliability and worthyness by talking to me and helping me sort out my own fears.

Thankfully all went well.

It can take a long time to trust and a short time to lose trust. It can take a short time to trust and a long time to lose trust. Because people are so complex it is easy to be confused about trust.

So what do you do?

Trust in yourself first.

In a calm way.

You are very strong.

Carry on!

Thoughtful Thursdays # 83 Ego vs Love

Standard

Most of the time we don’t even know when our ego is around. However one reliable indicator that your ego is out is your level of give and take.

If you are taking more than you are giving then it’s your ego.

If you are giving more than you are taking then it’s love.

Can you be humble enough to pay attention to your actions and reactions?

It’s your choice……..

A Sense of Accomplishment

Standard

Often I have a nagging feeling of something that I can’t put my finger on. I feel edgy, uncomfortable, restless. I try different things to find out where the feeling is coming from. For example, eating, watching TV, socializing, any anything else that is out side of me.

None of those things work. I finally realized what I was denying. My own creativity. There is nothing in my world that is more staisfying as being creative. Whether it is painting or writing, I get a tremendous sense of accomplishment.

Most of us deny our true selves and the best way to get back in touch with it is do the thing that makes us feel accomplished.

It is our job to figure what that feeling of accomplishment is and build on it. Even if it for five minutes a day.

Happy days are created by not denying what makes us happy. Happy days are created by doing what makes us happy.

Figure it out for yourself. What makes you happy? Where can you fit in 5 minutes of this action that makes you happy?

Self discovery will take you to where you are supposed to be in all areas of your life. Seems unrealistic? Not really, the happier you are the more your life will come into the balance of where it’s supposed to be.

Happy Adventures………

Thoughtful Thursdays #82 – Hurting Others

Standard

No one attacks without the intent to hurt. Cruelty becomes protection. You mean to hurt others  to have freedom. You attack because of fear. Fear of invasions or fear of a feeling. You are looking for freedom from fear. Freedom from feeling your own inadequacy.

If it is you that is lashing out, talk it out with someone who is sympathetic to you. If you are the victim of this type of lashing out let it go because they are hurting and have bad people skills.

Let it go.

This is paraphrased from a section in a Course In Miracles.  Poor behavior is reflection of the person doing the wrong action. It is not a reflection on the intended victim.

Thoughtful Thursdays # 81 – I Am Proud Of Myself

Standard

So many times we don’t give ourselves credit for how much we do, accomplish or endure.

How many times have you bit the bullet and went to work because it was necessary. Congratulations.

How many times have you overcome an obstacle that seemed impossible. Congratulations.

How many times have you had to endure a really uncomfortable situation. Congratulations.

Each opportunity is a chance to say “I am proud of myself”.

Proud that I earn a living.

Proud I don’t give up.

Proud I have endurance.

Make a list of everything that makes you proud to be you and you will see how very capable you are and how valuable you are to everyone in your world.

Lucky you!!!!!

Thoughtful Thursdays # 80 – New Year Resolutions

Standard

I don’t do well with New Year Resolutions because I feel like I am being forced to do something just because every one else is. I was never one to follow the crowd.

These resolutions seem like a set up for beating yourself up if you don’t follow through on an empty promise you made to yourself.I don’t beat myself up and neither should you.

Instead expand on what has been working in your life and leave behind what does not work.

This is the time for year for new ideas, new feelings and new adventures.

Happy New Year 2015.

Love

Standard

You don’t need

a reason

to love someone.

You just do.

Thoughtful Thursdays #79 – Going with the Flow

Standard

I wonder if anyone else goes through this. I find when I push and try to force an event, it usually doesn’t work.

When I go with the flow of events, things work out perfect.

I must remind myself that stepping back and letting life flow without my interuption is the better way to get what is perfect and necessary.

Happy flowing.
