Thoughtful Thursdays # 111 – The Language of Feelings

Standard

Many times we have a feeling and can’t quite put it into words.

I feel suspicious so I become critical and distant: the core feeling is anger.

I feel inadequate so I become submissive: the core feeling is fear.

I feel empty so I become lonely:  the core feeling is sadness.

I feel fulfilled so I become interested:  the core feeling is happiness.

Here’s a helpful wheel created by English teacher Kaitlin Robbs that can help narrow down the exact work that best describes your feelings.

Identifing your feelings is the beginning of healing and growth.

And thanks to Ms. Robbs.
